How to use the platform

Study Method

The platform is designed around one cycle: understand the clinical pattern, retrieve it without looking, then revisit what you miss.

1. Learn in clinical chunks

Each module organizes content into clinically meaningful sections rather than long encyclopedic chapters. High-yield discriminators are emphasized, but fuller review material stays available.

2. Test immediately

Questions sit beside the chapter so retrieval follows reading closely. This makes gaps visible while the underlying concept is still easy to revisit.

3. Review errors, not just scores

For each missed item, focus on the clue that should have changed the decision: the risk factor, time course, physiologic mechanism, or management branch.

4. Revisit missed concepts

The browser stores question attempts locally. Use the missed-question mode to concentrate review on concepts that have not yet become automatic.

Practical rule: do not reread an entire chapter after every error. Return to the specific section that contains the discriminator you missed, then answer another question.

Why questions are original

The goal is to practice the reasoning pattern without reproducing copyrighted commercial question-bank items. Clinical facts and standard medical concepts are not proprietary, but the wording and construction of each practice item are independently created for this site.

Assessment workflow

Tutor mode vs Exam mode

Tutor/adaptive mode is for learning: answer a question, see the explanation, repair the misconception, and build mastery.

Exam mode is for assessment: choose a 10-question, 20-question, or full-chapter block; optionally use Step 2-style timing; mark questions; review unanswered items; and submit the block before seeing correctness or explanations.

Recommended sequence: learn the chapter → use concept practice and Smart 10 → use Exam Mode only after you want an honest check of retrieval without feedback cues.
